Legal Career: 25 Years in the Courtroom

Licensed in Texas since 2001, Rob has spent his entire career fighting for injury victims. He served as a partner at the Carlson Law Firm from 2009 to 2017 — where he founded and led the firm’s Complex Case Division — then as Litigation Director at Komie & Morrow, partner at DC Law, and senior attorney at Bafidis Law Firm and Lone Star Legal before joining Dang Law Group in April 2026.

Rob devotes 100% of his practice to litigation and trial. As an Austin personal injury attorney, he handles wrongful death, commercial vehicle accidents, premises and product liability, construction and workplace injuries, and civil rights and police misconduct cases.

Whether on the road, highway, streets, or any type of collision, Dang Law Group is here to help if you were injured or have damage to your property as a result of a car accident.

These types of accidents can have more severe consequences due to the size and weight of these large vehicles. We are the legal experts who can help victims with legal services without our clients paying directly out of pocket.

As large vehicles, sometimes with double trailers or heavy loads that are difficult to handle, 18-wheeler trucks can cause serious accidents, as well as spills or cargo falling on the road, increasing the possibility of causing a multiple-vehicle accident.

Board Certified, Proven Results

Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law is earned through a rigorous examination and a demonstrated record of trial experience. Rob’s results reflect that standard:

  • $877,000 jury verdict — Hernandez v. City of Austin, the largest civil rights jury verdict in Texas for 2016
  • Multiple seven-figure recoveries in auto, commercial vehicle, and transport cases
  • Six of the Top 50 Personal Injury Settlements in Texas in 2022 (TopVerdict.com)
  • Cases regularly covered by local and statewide media for more than a decade

Rob’s experience as an Austin car accident attorney and Austin commercial truck accident attorney includes seven-figure outcomes against commercial carriers and their insurers, while his work as an Austin construction accident attorney has secured substantial recoveries for injured workers.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Each case is evaluated on its own facts.

Complex Cases and Civil Rights

Rob built his reputation on the cases other lawyers turn away. At the Carlson Law Firm he founded the Complex Case Division specifically to handle matters requiring extensive expert work, aggressive discovery, and a genuine willingness to go to trial.

His landmark verdict in Hernandez v. City of Austin — a police excessive-force case tried to a federal jury — remains one of the most significant civil rights results in Texas, and he continues to represent victims of police misconduct alongside his work as an Austin wrongful death attorney.

Philosophy and Approach:
Try the Case

After more than 30 jury trials, Rob’s approach is simple: prepare every case as if it will be decided by twelve strangers in a courtroom, because sometimes it will be.

That preparation — and the reputation that comes with it — is what drives fair settlements, whether he is acting as an Austin premises liability attorney, an Austin auto accident attorney, or a civil rights advocate. Outside the office, Rob plays piano and loves to travel.
